Who Am I Writing For?

The audience I imagine for Kezjana’s Corner is students and young adults in Vancouver who want an honest opinion before spending their money on a meal. They are people like me and my friends. Before choosing a restaurant, we look through reviews, TikTok, Instagram, and Google Maps, which I wrote about in my first mini assignment. I want my blog to be one reliable source in that process.

This audience influenced my design decisions. A simple, clean layout makes the site easy to scan, which matters for readers who are comparing options quickly. I am also working toward a warm, restaurant-style feel, because I want the site to reflect the atmosphere that young adults look for when they pick a place to eat.

My audience also shaped my editorial choices. I write reviews that are honest, including what I did not like. In my burger review, for example, I said the food was too salty even though I enjoyed the patty. I give each restaurant a score out of five so readers can decide at a glance, and I use casual, plain language so the posts sound like a friend giving advice rather than a critic. My About page states that I am not a food critic and that my opinions come from my own experiences.

I do not know exactly who reads my blog yet, so this imagined audience is an assumption. As the site grows, I expect it to change, and I will adjust my content to fit the readers who actually show up.
