I tried Ask for Luigi in Vancouver and ordered the Campanelle with Braised Beef Ragu, the Pappardelle with Wild and Cultivated Mushrooms and Fonduta, and their focaccia.

The campanelle was very good, and it was the best dish of the meal for me. The beef in the ragu stood out the most because it was tender and full of flavour. It made the whole dish feel rich and well balanced, and it is the one I would order again.

The pappardelle was okay, but it was not the best mushroom pasta I have had. It was very saucy for my taste, and I think it needed more salt to bring out the flavour of the mushrooms. The fonduta added richness, but at times it felt like there was more sauce than pasta.

The focaccia was amazing. It was very soft, and with the olive oil and balsamic it brought me back to Italy. I would go back just for the bread.

Rating: 3.5/5 stars

Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would go back for the beef ragu and the focaccia. The mushroom pappardelle was the weaker dish, and the price was a bit high for what you get, which is the main thing keeping the rating at 3.5.
